Singapore Dance Theatre presents Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party + Tickets Giveaway worth $160

Back by popular demand, Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) will be restaging Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party this weekend at the Esplanade Theatre Studio which brings the return of your favourite and familiar characters in the form of a children’s ballet production.  Created by SDT Artistic Director Janek Schergen, this hour-long children’s ballet production brings together meaningful morals in a time of fun and adventure.

Peter and Blue

On a sunny morning, Peter wake to his long awaited birthday. Along with his dog Blue, and cat Calico, Peter invites all his friends from the forest to his birthday party. One by one, Peter’s friends arrives, each bearing a gift for Peter. The first to arrive were the Dragonflies, and the loveyly Apple Blossom Girls with the mischievous Blueberry Boys. Butterfly, as the leader, brought all the flower fairies and trees sprites. Blue and Calico led off the festivities with dancing and games, before ending the party with Peter’s birthday cake and farewell bids.

Peter & Blue

“Peter & Blue has established itself, over the past five years, as some of Singapore Dance Theatre’s happiest annual performances.  The dancers get a big thrill out of the immediate response in performing for a young audience and bringing them into the world inhabited by Peter, his dog Blue and cat Calico, with all their adventures,” comments Janek Schergen, Artistic Director of Singapore Dance Theatre.  “Young audiences have a unique perspective into the performance arts and it is through this exposure to dance, as an art form, that a pure joy can be witnessed.  Sight, sound and imagination are all brought into the experience, and the joy and pleasure of the performance can remain with you long after the actual event.”

This charming, whimsical tale is just right for children aged 3 and over. Along with children’s activities such as meet-the-characters, photo-taking session, and balloon sculpting, this is a perfect family outing not to be missed!
