Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the original Broadway Musical is coming to Singapore for the first time on 21st March 2015!
The Academy Award®-winning Disney’s animated feature film from 1991 will come to life on stage at The MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands today. Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is a tale of love and friendship between BELLE, a young lady from a small town, and the BEAST, a young prince trapped in a spell. The musical is an international sensation and caters to audiences of all ages.
We are very excited and happy to share that this wonderful musical will be running until 19 April 2015 due to the overwhelming popular demand!
We had a sneak peek during the Media Invite yesterday and had a wonderful time meeting the people behind this wonderful Broadway Musical. One thing is for sure, we were totally blown away by Belle’s beautiful voice and are really excited to go to watch the musical. Here’s sharing a video we took at the presentation.
After the short presentations at the press call, we got to meet the cast including the beautiful Belle and the ever so tall Gaston up close and personal!
Hilliary (Belle) is beautiful and loves to eat junk food, so that’s good news for us? hahha…
Look at Adam Dietlein (Gaston) in person, isn’t he tall!! hahaa! Towering a whole head above us is the handsome Gaston… it’s no wonder he has so many admirers!
In costume performing as Gaston …
Also on tour in the cast are two very talented young people, Liam and Charlie, aged 9 and 8 respectively. They play the part of Mrs Pott’s son Chip, the little Tea Cup! It was a joy talking to them. They were articulate and confident and ever so ready to share their fun experiences being on tour! Charlie has been with the cast since 2012 and has been to Turkey, UAE, Italy, Greece, Philippines, Thailand, USA and Canada! Talk about a young traveller!
A full cast and orchestra with a travelling company of over 60 people (comprising of 30 cast, 2 parents, 12 crew, 11 musicians, 2 merchandise and 2 management personnel), this musical has played to over 35 million people in 30 countries. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has ran for more than 13 years on Broadway and is the 8th longest running Broadway musical in history.
Take a peek at some of the backstage photos and stage setup. These are nothing short of glam and elegance! Read the photo caption for minute details that makes the musical nothing but the best!
Singapore audiences can expect to see a stage setup that is the same as the original Broadway production. This includes Tony Award® winning costumes from Ann Hould-Ward, Academy Award®-winning score with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman.
